Education Online – The Engine Tune Up

The old dreaded tune-up, this automotive service has changed immensely. The older tune up consisted of several replaceable items. I will mention some of these items in this article and compare the old vs the later model tune up. Read on.

-Distributor type ignition systems require more tuning than distributor-less found on newer vehicles. Distributors have been around for years and continue to show their presence. Distributor type ignition and the related components are the reason the tune up was born. This service helps allow the average, basic mechanic to keep working in the auto repair industry. Again their are several replaceable parts that you will need when performing  “distributor type ignition tuning”. These parts may include the distributor, cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs. Use caution, these components can get extremely expensive, especially when there is someone replacing them and they are not bad. A good auto repair technician can perform the service in his sleep and can pin-point whether or not the vehicle needs to be tuned. Note Drive ability problems are not necessarily because you need a tune-up.

-Distributor-less type ignitions need much less maintenance. This makes tuning as easy as changing the spark plugs. I educate people, who frequently state, “my check engine light is on, my car needs a tune-up”. Warning, most of the time a vehicles check engine light takes more to repair than just a tune up for repair. This is why a qualified automotive repair technician is needed. Exercise your right to understand your automobile, one of your most important possessions.

Volvo Car Parts Online

Volvo Car Parts Online

Volvo car parts may seem endless and varied, at least for those who are not entirely familiar with such matters. However, with a wee bit of aid from experts and professionals in the field, you won’t have any trouble finding the right auto component that your car has been hankering for.

Parts for specific car models are included in the choices so you can wipe that scowl off your face and see to the options available to you. Pieces are available for those who own the following models: 240, 740, 780, 850, 940, 960 as well as parts for the S40, S60, S70 and S80. Volvo V40, V70, C70 and XC90 also number among them.

You may wish to check general categories first. See if the item you require belongs under any of the following: Volvo Engine Parts, Volvo Exhaust System Parts, Volvo External Accessories, Volvo Internal Accessories, Volvo Radiator Parts and Volvo Steering and Suspension System Parts.

On the other hand, if you haven’t got the slightest notion on where to start, you may simply wing it by browsing through the online inventory until you happen along the very item you wish to purchase. Buyers commonly go for any number of these additions: Volvo fog light, Volvo Car Cover, Volvo Spark plugs and a smattering of others.

How cheap online citroen van servicing can keep your business motoring

by admin on Mar.19, 2010, under Change Spark Plugs

As a company van driver, you know the importance of keeping your vehicle on the road and the wheels turning. If your vehicle stops, your business stops. Forget your citroen van service and you could let your customers down and spend days rearranging your work.

If you could avoid this, would you?

Well, just as regular maintenance of production machinery prevents breakdowns and prolongs life, regular van servicing helps keep your customers happy and extends the life of your key business asset – your van.

Servicing doesn’t need to cost the earth. Now you can book a cheap van service online, so you’re no longer tied to the main dealer for your company van servicing. Take one minute to read this and I’ll show you an easier way for busy business people like you to arrange cheap van servicing from where you’re sitting right now, without interrupting your day…

Keeping Your Fuel Costs Down

Businesses have to budget for ever increasing fuel bills, so why burn more than you have to? Leading automobile bodies advise regular vehicle servicing to maintain engine efficiency. When the engine runs efficiently and is lubricated with good quality oil, you refuel less often. Consequently you spend less on fuel each month than if your van service was overdue.

To maintain your van’s fuel economy, experts advise that you book your van service at regular intervals, according to the manufacturer’s schedule. Importantly, this means that, as part of the van service, the correct specification of engine oil is used.

Your van servicing costs should include an oil change and a new oil filter too. Engine oil carries away contaminants that are collected by the oil filter. This keeps the engine oil clean, so your engine operates efficiently and without excessive wear to moving parts.

Regular van servicing costs a little, but prevents expensive long term problems and can maintain a better fuel economy.

Spark plugs are another essential engine component to consider replacing when booking your van service. Your van servicing costs should not change dramatically by having this done, but your fuel economy might well increase.

Another simple way of maintaining fuel efficiency is to check tyre pressures regularly. Under-inflated tyres create more rolling resistance with the road and so use more fuel.

National van servicing network Service A Van, will collect and deliver your van free of charge from home or work. Now you can have your van serviced virtually anywhere in the country during a driver’s rest day or when it’s least disruptive to your business.

The cost saving on online van servicing can be up to 50 per cent, according to figures from Service A Van, meaning that any business could pay less to keep their business motoring.
