Car Maintenance Services to Schedule With Your Auto Technician: Spring Auto Maintenance Checklist

Don’t risk being stranded or getting less than you should from your car at trade in. A little attention to the basics now will improve its appearance and performance for years to come.
Now scheduling with your service center is easy, thanks to this handy checklist of items for the spring season. Don’t miss the first checklist, with items you can do yourself.
1.First, find a quality service shop. Look for one that services cars equal in value to your own (their parking lot will speak volumes!). Go inside and check out the equipment in the service bays (for example, our RK Chevrolet service center has state-of-the-art, computerized equipment. This facilitates faster diagnosis and repair, getting you back on the road quicker.)
To find out the qualifications of the technicians, scan the walls for trade school diplomas, certificates of advanced course work and training classes.
2.Have your technician check the tightness and condition of belts, clamps, and hoses. (RK Scion technicians recommend that belts and hoses be inspected monthly).
Worn, glazed or frayed belts should be replaced, as should bulging, rotten, or brittle hoses. Clamps should be tightened.
3.Anything that is worn or damaged should be replaced to prevent sudden breakdowns.
4.If your air conditioner system is faulty, have it checked. Cooling inefficiency could be the result of a lack of air flow across the condenser. Have your mechanic make sure the electric cooling fan motor near the condenser is coming on.
In fan blade models, the fan should turn very fast. Also have your mechanic check the Freon level and pressure. Air conditioners on older vehicles often contain ozone-depleting chemicals that could be released into the air if the system isn’t working properly.
5.If your engine is experiencing hard starts, rough idling, or stalling, have it fixed. Often times, the trouble stems from basic things like worn spark plugs, a dirty air filter, or bad ignition wires, but if you’re not mechanically inclined whatsoever, it’s best to go straight to a professional.
(Taking care of little things early will likely improve your gasoline mileage and prevent minor problems from becoming expensive repairs later on.
6.Don’t neglect your transmission. RK Toyota technicians report that routine service can eliminate costly repairs down the road. A manual transmission does not usually experience trouble, except for the clutch, which can be problematic if improperly adjusted or abused.
A common problem with automatics is fluid breakdown from overheating. Fluid and filter changes every 24,000 miles can avoid premature transmission failure but few people heed such advice.

The Reasons for Getting the Extended Auto Warranty
The extended auto warranty is also referred to as the used car warranty or the new car warranty. This is basically a warranty that is offered after the purchase of a vehicle whether new or old. However, care has to be taken when choosing this option in spite of it being a cheaper option to go with. There are very few service providers who offer the service and hence the need to be cautious of scams. Some investors are out to exploit the naïve motorists in the name of the extended warranty.

Little attention here only that the software system, there are three major software systems to maximize the efficiency of impact to the car, electricity, fuel, air, and a brief overview of the three soft automotive performance systems, a detailed description of the various parts, for car engine performance, is the engine Power To improve and reduce the Fuel consumption To reduce emissions to extend engine life. The main purpose is to allow access to the engine the combustible gas can be fully, completely mixed, make a strong spark ignition combustion gas mixture. Here we tell you not to change the internal engine parts, car auto power protector Le Chevalier, vehicle maintenance software system, just replace the installation of auxiliary products to upgrade products and to achieve from the gas path, circuit, circuit performance of the three aspects of the engine improve the method. The biggest advantage is not modified and easy disassembly, is through the maintenance of automotive software systems, to improve vehicle best.
1, gas path: to increase per unit time into the volume of air inside the engine cylinder to reduce the engine intake resistance, which is part of the engine air intake improvement targets. The usual practice is to replace the original position of the high flow style, in addition to installation of the wind burst paste, place the box in the intake of energy can be released through their own role, will enter the air-cluster decomposition of a large number of negative ions of air, and the original disordered disorderly movement of air molecules become aligned in a straight line, so that the state of lean burn engine to enable engine speed climbs faster and more powerful.
2, Manifold: gasoline was atomized through the nozzle into the engine cylinder, which determines the degree of atomization of fuel and air mixing it. Therefore, the better fuel atomization, the more favorable and air mixing and combustion. Modified in many ways against the asphalt, the installation of the physical type of fuel is an effective method of turbocharger to increase the gas flow rate of fuel injection is more refined. The latest energy apron with rare elements, heated by the engine, release far infrared ray to set the fuel molecules flowing through the ‘decomposed’ into a single molecule, better atomization of fuel nozzle.
3, the circuit: the circuit is divided into ten systems and now car for safety, intelligent, entertaining more electrical and electronic equipment, cars driving while using a variety of electronic equipment, engine power is (air conditioning, sound , lighting, power windows, etc.) scattered, commonly known as ‘power grab’ likely to cause various Sensor Not allowed to send and receive signals, the maintenance of excellent automotive power system is important, original, through Battery To add power, but the battery’s discharge rate can not keep up, the engine battery power supply stability Spark Plug Ignition efficiency, ignition conductivity and the balance of positive and negative voltages, all of the engine power has a great influence. To do this we can replace the ignition, spark plugs, and installation of vehicle electrical protection devices, Current balance support facilities, to reduce the power load, increase the ignition energy, flame propagation speed faster and reduce the flame propagation distance, so that better combustion . Reduce Coke To reduce emissions.

Two Common Fallacies About Car Maintenance
Posted: May 21, 2009 |Comments: 0
Millions of people are fooled into believing those myths by savvy marketing and less-than-scrupulous mechanics. For example, the idea that your vehicle must have regular oil changes every 3,000 miles is an absolute falsehood. Similarly, your technician’s advice to have your radiator flushed once a year is more for his bottom line than for preserving your cooling system. Despite this, a lot of drivers spend unnecessary time and money following such advice.
In this brief article, I’m going to describe two common fallacies about car maintenance. These are myths that are perpetuated not only by your local mechanic, but by your dealership’s service technicians. Learn them and save your money. You will be glad you did.
#1 – Frequent Tune-Ups
Unless you’re driving a vehicle that was built when disco was still the rage, your car’s engine probably doesn’t need a tune-up. The service was performed in order to adjust the engine and moving parts during a time when carburetors were installed in every model. Today, the only car parts that need “tuning up” are the spark plugs. And those just need to be replaced every 50,000 miles. Everything else – the ignition, fuel injection, and idling of the engine – is controlled by computers.
Unfortunately, dealerships continue to tell their customers that they need to bring their vehicles in for a tune-up after 60,000 miles. That’s not surprising. After all, it increases their revenue.
#2 – New Air Filters
Think back to the last time you took your vehicle in for an oil change. Did the mechanic suggest a new air filter? Did he subtly imply that your car might sustain damage if you neglected to replace it? This is a common misconception. First, the air filter catches debris before it can enter the engine. Over time, the filter can accumulate so much dust and dirt that very little air can flow through. At that point, it’s a good idea to replace it. But, it takes a long time for the air filter to reach that stage.
Of course, that doesn’t stop auto technicians from recommending the replacement every time you visit. From their perspective, you come to their shop ready to spend on an oil change and end up spending . What’s not to like?
Auto Maintenance Education Saves Money
Your vehicle requires ongoing preventative maintenance. That’s what helps ensure that it will last. But, it’s too easy to waste valuable time and money following bad advice from mechanics and dealership technicians. Remember, their goal is to increase their sales; many of them are willing to do it at your expense.
Chances are, your vehicle doesn’t need regular tune-ups. Nor do you need to replace the air filter as often as your mechanic might suggest. As always, follow your owners manual. It’s the best way to keep your car in great condition. If you find a mechanic you trust and believe is treating you fairly, then he will be your mechanic for the life of your car and all other vehicles you own.

A Few Words About Lawn Mowing Maintenance & Repair

Lawn Mower Maintenance
I have been in the lawn mowing industry for many years and am writing to share my experience on lawn mower maintenance and purchasing. For my personal/home mower, I do the following things:
1) Change the oil and filter at least on time per season (I always carefully read the owner’s manual and follow the factories recommendations. At the very minimum, I change the oil and filter at least one time per season.)
2) Replace the factory blade with a mulching blade (I have had best results with a product called gator blade. By changing to a mulching blade, I have been able to eliminate the need for bagging grass and improve the look of my yard)
3) replace the spark plug at the beginning of each season (spark plugs generally cost less than two dollars and often make the lawn mower easier to start, especially if the old spark plug is very worn)
4) Check and clean the air filter every 3 cuts (a dirty air filter can damage your engine and make your mower much harder to start. I highly recommend checking and cleaning your air filter on a regular basis)
Lawn Mower Repair
If you are uncomfortable repairing your lawn mower yourself or have a complicated problem with your lawn mower, you should consult a professional who works on lawnmowers on a regular basis. You may find a professional by typing your cities name lawn mower repair into Google (for example, you may type, “Downers Grove Lawn Mower Repair” into Google). Once you generate a list of people in your area who do Lawn Mower Repair, you should research the companies you find a bit to find out whether or not they are trustworthy and sufficiently knowledgeable to do the job. To do this, I often ask for the recommendations of my family, friends, and other people in the lawn mowing industry. Often times, personal recommendations are a great way to find a trustworthy business.
Furthermore, once you find a professional that you want to take your lawn mower to, I strongly recommend getting a clear estimate for the price to complete the work before authorizing them to fix your machine. Often time’s repairs can exceed the value of a lawn mower and it makes more sense, economically, and it makes more sense to dump an old lawn mower than it does to invest a 0 dollars into an old one.
In the case your lawn mower is old and not worth fixing, I strongly recommend investing either in a Honda Self Propelled Lawn Mower or Toro Personal Pace. In my opinion, Honda’s are the best lawn mower for someone that is willing to pay 0-0 in order to get a great machine that lasts a long time. However, if you have a smaller budget, 0-0, I strongly recommend the Toro Personal Pace because it is very reliable, well built, and features a very unique self propelled system that makes it very easy to use. The personal pace system actually varies its speed based on how hard you push, the harder you push, the faster it goes. I have owned several Honda’s and several Toro’s and recommend both to my family and friends depending on their budget and unique needs.

Posted: Nov 25, 2010 |Comments: 0
|
]]>
As we all know, the engine falls as important to a car as the heart to a human body. Thus, its being fine tuned is not only important for trouble free performance but also the longevity of a car. Still, the car engine maintenance is one of the most neglected aspects of the overall maintenance of a car. Here are some essential car engine maintenance tips by following which you can not only keep the performance of the engine up to the mark but can also keep your pocket safe from heavy engine repair bills.
1)Regular Oil Change: – It is the most important and a must follow engine maintenance tip. One should strictly follow the oil change schedule provided by the company in order to keep the lubrication level up to the mark in the engine components. The engine oil catches metal particles and dirt with the time and if not changed at right time, it can affect the engine life very badly.
2)Avoid rough driving: – One should avoid driving vehicle roughly and should adopt engine friendly driving habits like using proper speed-gear combination and avoid overheating of the engine.
3)Maintaining Fluid Level: – The cooling system maintains the engine temperature and keeps it safe from overheating. Thus, maintaining the fluid level in the cooling system is very important and should be checked / refilled on a regular basis.
4)Listen to your car: – Keep a close eye on the performance of every component and scrutinize it carefully as soon as you hear any unusual sound coming out from any component. Even a faulty spark plug or a raddled air filter can prove harmful for over all engine unit, thus these components should be repaired / replaced as soon as you find a problem in any one of them.
5)Regular Service:- One should strictly follow the service schedule recommended by the company. The service includes checking / repairing / cleaning / replacing of many essential components of the engine system. Thus, it falls highly essential for the life and performance of the engine, in a longer run.

MAKE SUBPRIME LOANS EASILY ACCESSIBLE
First of all what you need is to understand the meaning of subprime loan, it is actually the loan given to the bad creditor. The usual criteria for this is that if you have less than 610 to 620 lands then you may be considered as a bad credit, but still I will like to mention that each every lender has his own scale to measure the bad credit. So it is likely that you are a bad creditor in the eyes of one lender but you will be on the safe side in front of any other potential lender.

Tips For Driving And Car Maintenance

The transportation accounts for almost 67% of oil use in US that is mainly in the form of gasoline. There are ample ways available for improving gas mileage.
Tips for driving
- Idling would give one 0 miles per gallon. The only best way of warming up a vehicle is driving it. There is not more than 30 seconds that are needed for idling in winter days. There is hardly anything simpler that wastes fuel and increases emissions.
- The habit of speeding, aggressive driving, rapid acceleration and hard braking is a cause of wasting gas. It is also a cause of lowering one’s highway gas mileage to 33% and city mileage to 5%.
- High speeds should always be avoided. A gas mileage above 60 mph drops rapidly.
- The car should be cleared out. Extra weight in the car is a cause of decreasing gas mileage by 1% – 2% for every 100 pounds.
- The drag can be reduced by placing items inside the car or trunk rather than putting any on the roof racks. A carrier or a roof rack provides additional cargo space and may allow one to buy a smaller car. Although a roof rack that is loaded can decrease the fuel economy by 5% or even more.
- The carpooling, telecommuting and public transit can be checked for cutting car mileage and maintenance costs of the vehicle.
Car maintenance tips
The grade of motor oil can be used which is recommended by the car’s manufacturer. In case, if a different motor oil is used, the gasoline mileage can be lowered by 1% to 2%.
The tires should be kept properly inflated and aligned. This will improve the gasoline mileage of the car by around 3.3%.
Regular engine tune-ups should be done and car maintenance checks must be carried out for avoiding problems related to fuel economy that can be a cause of worn out spark plugs, transmission problems, dragging brakes or low transmission fluid.
The blocked air filters should be replaced for improving gas mileage by as much as 10%. This will protect the engine.
The everyday jobs should be combined into one trip. A lot of short trips or each one taken from a very start can consume fuel twice as much as one trip covering the same distance at the time when the engine is warm.
Tip for long-term savings
One should consider buying a vehicle which is highly fuel-efficient. A person can save a lot of gas at the gas station by using a fuel-efficient vehicle, an alternative fuel vehicle or a hybrid vehicle. They are also environment friendly and will help in protecting it. The fuel economy guide can be consulted for more tips for buying a new fuel-efficient car or a truck.

Several Signs for Car Maintenance
Car maintenance is a crucial issue. However, most of the car owners know that their cars need maintenance only when their cars go wrong, such as they shake, they will not start, and they make noises. It makes the owners waste money for extra fuel before the symptom is obvious. Meanwhile, some others only follow the scheduled maintenance which is recommended. It makes them waste money for replacing the parts which are still able to work for driving for some thousand miles.

Proper Maintenance of Used Cars

Maintenance is an important part of owning any car, whether it may be brand new or used. Once you have gained ownership of a car from an authorized second hand car dealer, one has to continue a good routine of maintenance already started by the dealer to preserve, or even increase, the value of the car. The purpose of maintaining the car could either be keeping the car in the utmost condition for reselling or trading, or keeping the car running properly and secure for travel use.
Second hand cars require constant maintenance than brand new ones, and even a little basic know-how and experience of working under the hood. Making sure that the tires are on good condition ensures the best handling and mileage a used car can offer. Also, checking the tire pressure several times in every month with a tire tester, which could be purchased from most automotive shops or at some gasoline stations, ensures that the tires are intact and safe to drive with.
Often a neglected task, particularly in places were rainfall is seldom, is checking of the windshield wipers. Windshield wipers can develop cracks and damages, or turn out to be bended in a way that contact with the glass is hampered. The damaged windshield wipers should be changed right away.
Santa Ana used cars professionals recommend vacuuming the car’s interior to clean most of the dirt off before cleaning the interior pieces with cloth. Seat covers must be removed, along with the mats, to make the floor easier to be vacuumed.
To be safe and to avoid police encounters while driving, lights must always be checked regularly before driving, according to most Santa Ana used cars mechanics. A tip from the experts tells that if one do not have a second person outside the car to tell that the brake lights are working, just moving the car close to any moderately reflective wall and look at the reflection of the lights.
Also suggested by Santa Ana used cars experts is that a regular tune up and maintenance must also be checked by a professional mechanic, not just by the owner. In most check ups, mechanics ensure proper operation of the brakes, battery, air filter, wheel bearings, suspensions and shock absorbers. Spark plugs must also be checked for replacement, and tires for proper alignment.
