If you are looking for a comfortable, compact car, then Chevrolet Cobalt is surely made for you. It has a better fuel economy than others in the same category. The Chevrolet Cobalt has coupe and sedan models for the car lovers. It features a four-cylinder engine with a 2.2-liter fuel capacity and it gets 30 mpg on the highway. Chevrolet Cobalt has four models; one is the Cobalt SS sports version.

When we talk about the features of this version, then you will be surprised to know that it has a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine that can produce 260 HP. This power is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. Other options include a four-speed automatic transmission.

The Chevrolet Cobalt coupe model offers the best deal in highway fuel economy. It can cover a distance of 480 miles on a single tank of gas. You will not get such a mileage in any other compact car. You can get more power with an optional 2.0 liter 1-4 Ecotec engine. When you purchase a car, safety is an important factor to consider. The Cobalt features several safety measures to help ensure your protection in the event of a collision or any other mishap with your vehicle.

There are airbags in front and on the sides to prevent injury to the passengers upon impact. The latest technology used in this model like Stabili Track and four-wheel anti-lock brakes give you the control to stay on the road during dangerous situations. OnStar’s Automatic Crash response system is available with built-in sensors that can connect you to the company’s service advisor for emergency help on the spot when a collision has occurred. This feature uses the Global Positioning System for your help.

You can also enjoy an MP3 enabled stereo system with XM Radio in your Chevy Cobalt for your musical driving pleasure. You can also get 100,000 mile  long life spark plug with a 150,000 mile engine coolant. Along with these features you also receive the benefit of a five-year transferable Power train Limited warranty. Is there any better deal than this! When you’re looking for a compact car, check out the Chevrolet Cobalt. It compares to any other compact available and we’re confident you’ll find it to your liking!

DIY Electric Cars Still Best Bet

by admin on Aug.28, 2010, under Best Spark Plug

DIY Electric Cars Still Best Bet

It’s interesting that the biggest new push being made by car manufacturers is for electric cars – not ( like many forecast) for hydrogen cars.

Hydrogen is on the market, sure, but it’s electric cars that are creating sparks on the current international scene.

After the big fuel shortage scare came the near financial collapse of major companies in the world motoring industry. Then came the big DIY by motorists as they converted their cars themselves to either hydrogen or electric.

The fuel shortage problem is still there and the situation now for the motoring industry is a delicate one. They have to get their marketing right to capture enough business just to survive.

Trouble is that these new technology cars cost a heap of money. DIY is still a better financial alternative on the electric front.

DIY electric car conversions total about 0. The conversions are quick to do and require no special mechanical knowledge. All you need is a DIY manual. They can be done on any type of vehicle in any country.

It costs about to charge your car from your electric plug at home. You can travel up to 100 miles (160.9 kms) on a simple charge. You will get up to 55mph (88.5 kph).

There are various manuals on the market but the one I like is by environmentalist Peter Millward whose whole family drives electric cars. To help improve the environment Peter is currently offering his 40-page manual for a very low price. It also comes with numerous bonuses and a money-back guarantee.

As well as being totally clean for the world environment, electric cars help reduce noise pollution.

Windows 7 Guide- Best 5 Tips For Windows 7

by admin on Aug.24, 2010, under Best Spark Plug

Windows 7 Guide- Best 5 Tips For Windows 7

You may believe that  Windows 7 is faster and less annoying than Vista. However, there are few things you’ll want to change. This article will discuss a few tips and tweaks for getting up to speed with Windows 7. But first we’ll describe how to install Windows 7 on computers that aren’t sporting a DVD drive, such as Netbooks and laptops.

Installing Windows 7 with a USB Flash Drive

Windows 7 installation is not very hard, all you need is just a DVD-ROM and an installation disc. However, if your DVD-ROM is out of order or you don’t have one then you can install Windows 7 through a USB drive. When you’ll install Windows 7 from USB drive, it takes less time compare to DVD-ROM.

STEP 1. Formatting the USB Flash Drive is an important factor that more or less, lays the foundation of the whole installation process. It enables a computer to read a bootable drive. So connect your flash drive into a system.

STEP 2. Open up Command Prompt which is usually located in Program Files and type a number of commands. Usually the operation starts by entailing the following commands in the order given; Diskpart-List Disk-Clean-Create Partition Primary-Primary 1-Active-Format FS-Assign-Exit.

STEP 3. After the stage is clear and with all the formatting and compatibility options taken care of, now the part for installing the Windows 7 CD comes into play. Quickly insert the CD and browse or simply open your Windows 7 ISO and browse the folders that are located within it.

STEP 4. Now to enable computer to ‘think’ that this is an installation CD, you need to spoof your flash stick arises. Quickly respond and open up the Command Prompt as Administrator and browse to program files and also the accessories. Then simply, right click on CMD and go to “Run as Administrator”. Now if you fail to live up to the last step or if your UAC is enabled, then there is a high chance running into the risk of receiving an error message.

STEP 5. We are finally nearing the end of the installation process. Now the flash drive needs to be filled in with all the contents of the Windows 7 CD or ISO. Once through with this, reboot the computer with the flash drive plugged in and hit the boot key and select the boot device.

STEP 6. For the last time, boot this to your flash drive and it will automatically go to the Windows 7 Setup screen. There, and we are through with installing the Windows 7 from a Flash Drive/USB Stick.

Speed up the Windows 7 boot process with Dual Core or Quad Core Processors.

Follow these easy steps to make your PC boot faster:

STEP 1: Click Start Menu and select the ‘Run’ command.

STEP 2: Type ‘Msconfig’ and press OK to run the System Configuration Utility.

STEP 3: Open up the ‘Boot”’ tab and press the ‘Advanced options’ button.

STEP 4: Under Number of Processors select 2 for a dual core or 4 if you have a quad core processor.

STEP 5: Click ‘OK’ button and then before you close the System Configuration Utility, make sure the check box besides ‘Make all boot settings permanent’ is checked.

STEP 6: Now click OK, reboot your system to bring these changes into effect.

Save space

Another way of optimizing your system is by saving space. In case you have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7, your system will have a huge folder, C:Windows.old, containing the full contents of your old Vista system. Scan the folderfor any files that you intent to save in your new OS, and then delete the entire folder from your drive.

You can increase performance by changing the location of the system’s paging file from the drive involving the C: partition to a separate hard drive, if your PC has multiple hard drives.

Follow these steps to perform this task:

STEP 1. Open Control Panel and choose System.

STEP 2. From there, click Advanced System Settings. Select the Advanced tab, and then click the Settings button under the Performance category. On the new window that pops up, choose the Advanced tab. Finally, click Change.

STEP 3. Uncheck the box labeled Automatically manage paging file size for all drives. Select C: from the Drive box and switch it to the No paging file option.

STEP 4. Next, select a different hard drive and choose System managed size.

STEP 5. Click OK and restart your computer.

Save your resources.

You can save the resources by disabling the unused applications that are started every time during the operating system’s startup process.

Follow these steps to perform this task:

STEP 1. Click on the Windows Start button and type msconfig into the ‘Search programs and files’ field. Then press Enter.

STEP 2. Select the Startup tab in the System Configuration window. Then move your mouse between the headers of the Manufacturer and Command columns. Then shrink the Manufacturer column down.

STEP 3. Click Start, type services.msc into the search field, and press Enter.

STEP 4. Double-click on any service in the Startup type listing. Then switch among the Automatic, Manual, and Disabled modes, depending on the recommendations of Charles Sparks under the alias Black Viper.

Delete temporary files.

User can also speed up your system by removing unused temporary files from the drive frequently. For this purpose, you can use Revo Uninstaller utility, an application that removes programs using their default uninstall routines.

Profitably Expand into the Best New Products and Services

Profitably Expand into the Best New Products and Services

I was once driving along with an executive who loved to bring out new products. He was very proud of their brand names, their contents, and their authenticity. I asked him how he thought about profitability. He said that he didn’t. He just measured how much more volume he sold.

He was shocked to learn that the profitability of his new products in the last year had varied from 1 percent to as high as 39 percent. He asked me which ones earned 39 percent. When I told him, he laughed.

I asked what was funny. He said that those were easier to do than the less profitable ones, but he had been afraid to do too much in that area. From then on, he refocused in the high profit new product area and grew earnings faster than the business had ever done before.

It was a nice ending to the story. let’s look at an example to see how to think about what to add.

A young married couple, Mr. William and Ms. Dorothy Hustead, bought a small store in a tiny town near the South Dakota Badlands. From 1931 to 1936, they struggled through the Depression serving the town’s 326 impoverished residents.

One day in 1936, Ms. Hustead, bothered by the sound of cars on the nearby highway heading for Mount Rushmore, persuaded her husband to expand their business to serve these travelers. Mr. Hustead put up signs on the highway to draw visitors to their store, making a unique appeal. The signs said, “Free Ice Water . . . Wall Drug.” In those days before automobile air conditioning was common, that offer was a powerful appeal.

Beginning from this humble expansion of its customer base, Wall Drug now serves more than 20,000 visitors a day during the summer in its Wall, South Dakota, store and many more on its Web site.

Let’s return to Wall Drug in the 1930s to explore expanding a for-profit business’s scope and concept. People heading for the Black Hills also needed services.

Wall Drug could have checked car radiators to see if they needed more water and could have helped tired travelers make motel reservations, plan side trips to little-known attractions, obtain referrals to South Dakota physicians and dentists, and acquire local towing insurance for their cars.

While the free ice water was welcome to hot, tired travelers, Wall Drug failed to appreciate that such travelers were primarily trying to enjoy a nice vacation and would have welcomed many reasonably priced, vacation-enhancing services. Wall Drug could have offered some of those services for free to the travelers by relying on commissions from motels, attractions, and insurance companies.

While checking the radiators, Wall Drug would have found plenty of cars that needed gasoline, oil, filters, windshield wiper blades, spark plugs, and other minor items that could have been provided after the radiator water was checked. The Husteads would have benefited by realizing that they were also in the business of improving vacation travel, rather than only selling pharmacy items.

Nonprofit organizations are often similarly too narrow in their thinking. I have visited many food distribution centers for needy families, but don’t recall ever seeing such a center that provided a way for the unemployed to find work.

While hundreds of families are lined up for the groceries, a separate set of volunteers could be helping match people to available jobs in the area. Volunteers could help those with limited reading and writing skills to explore lists and fill out applications. Cellular phones could be shared to make job interview appointments.

These centers should see their role as helping the needy to be able to provide for their own needs. As the Chinese proverb says, you do more good if you teach someone to fish rather than just providing a fish for today’s meal.

As an example of how more can be accomplished by thinking about other ways to help, Habitat for Humanity found that it could multiply its global efforts by encouraging national organizations to send one-tenth of the money they raise to other countries.

While a new home in the United States might cost ,000 to build, an African home might cost only 0. By sharing 10 percent of the money they raise, a U.S. affiliate can increase the number of families served by their funds as many as 10-fold.

In addition, the Habitat families and volunteers learn to build homes, take care of the homes, and help others build their homes. In many cases, the families and volunteers can then find work in home building and related trades. As the no-interest mortgages are repaid, poor families are also providing funds for other poor families to use.

What’s missing to have the right scope and concept? Organizations are focused on providing more of what they do today rather than considering what those who receive the products and services really want and need. Naturally, organizations need to focus. Taking on the wrong additional products and services can create havoc with the economics of a business or nonprofit organization and leave everyone worse off.

Experience Best Nissan Parts From the Available Nissan Auto Parts From Prestige Motorsport P/l:

Nissan is one of the most respected names in all the imported brands available with Prestige Motorsport P/L. The success of Nissan can be estimated from the fact that the auto parts of this brand have been shopped by the people online through out 24 hours. A large variety available in Nissan is one of the reasons why people give more precedence to it. In successful ranking of Prestige Motorsport the importation of Nissan has a very big hand.

No one can deny the fact that, today the Nissan parts are believed to be the symbol of guarantee. They can conveniently be purchased via online from prestige Motorsport’s official web site. The great advantage of purchasing Nissan auto parts online is that there will be no role of any intermediate broker in the whole transaction. You can directly contact and deal with the company within a short period of time. Ordered products are supplied immediately through the warehouses that are available in all the parts of the country. Car parts and accessories are supplied from the ware house that is situated at the shortest distance from the ordered site. If you import the Nissan brand and Nissan parts from the Prestige Motorsport P/L then you can have sufficient discount on the ordered consignment. You can compare the price from anywhere but you will never get Nissan auto parts along with the vehicle importation at such an affordable price as offered by Prestige Motorsport.

With the Prestige Motorsport P/L, you can easily locate Nissan parts along with the most demandable models available with this brand.  Some of the models of Nissan that are available with Prestige include Nissan Skyline V35 (2003), Nissan Skyline PV35 (2005), Nissan Skyline V35 (2002), Nissan Skyline V35 (2001), and Nissan Skyline R34. Here, you can receive most of the Nissan auto parts at a lower rate with a vast range in comparison to the parts available with Mitsubishi models like Mitsubishi Legnum and Mitsubishi lancer. For getting such a deal it is quite difficult to find any other place.

If you are going to order Nissan parts with the model that you are going to import from outside then it is important to understand why dealing with prestige can be highly fruitful to you. Some of the Nissan auto parts that you can easily receive with the available motorcar stock includes Nissan alternator, Air filter, Nissan axle, Nissan ball joints, Nissan brake booster, Nissan brake caliper, Nissan brake rotors, Nissan brake pads, Nissan CV boots, Nissan clutch disc, Control arm, Nissan distributor cap, Nissan fan clutch, Engine parts, Nissan distributor rotor, Nissan fuel injectors, Nissan fuel filter, Nissan fuel pressure regulator, Nissan heater core, Nissan ignition coil, Oxygen sensor, Nissan oil filter,  Nissan pressure plate, Power steering pump, Nissan radiator, Nissan spark plugs and starter, Nissan thermostat, timing belt, Nissan tie rods, Nissan transmission mount, Water pump, Nissan valve cover gasket, Nissan window motor and Nissan wheel bearing.

This mostly completes all the car parts and accessories. The Nissan parts available here include both common and rare accessories. If you are importing vehicle from outside then some of the parts can be difficult for you to find out again. If you go for the wide range of Nissan auto parts available with Prestige Motorsport P/L then you can save your both time and money and can also prevent crises in future.

For Best Results Repeat Cost-Reduction Steps

For Best Results Repeat Cost-Reduction Steps

Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.

– Satchel Paige

When you buy most vehicles, they come with an owner’s manual that describes routine checkups and maintenance. The purpose of such checkups is to see that everything is working properly and, if necessary, to bring your vehicle up to safe and efficient standards of operation.

While a few items like oil changes need to be done frequently, most types of vehicle maintenance occur every 30,000 miles. You are usually told to change the air and fuel filters, as well as the spark plugs. You are also encouraged to rotate and balance the tires and align the vehicle. In addition, you inspect critical parts such as the engine, brakes, and battery. On some 30,000 mile checkups, you are also told to replace the coolant, if you have a radiator, and the transmission fluid. For some vehicles, the dealers can also do extensive electronic checks to see if any other function has degraded to below critical performance levels.

I have a different kind of checkup in mind for you in pursuing greater cost reductions for stakeholders. This checkup allows you to streak exponentially past the breakthrough solution level of cost-reduction success. Our checkup has two purposes:

1. To refresh and strengthen your cost-reduction capabilities as an organization after a success in implementing a breakthrough solution

2. To lift your organization to new heights of cost effectiveness, much like the second stage of a rocket launches the payload to a higher altitude by adding to the momentum provided by the first stage

Let’s look at the astonishing size of the potential benefits from this checkup. First, you may be able to open up important new markets. Many people are inclined to leave well enough alone after having reduced costs by more than 95 percent for some stakeholders. After all, the absolute size of taking that cost down by a second 95 percent is a pittance compared to the prior cost reduction. That’s certainly true, but that’s also not the end of the story.

You should see the opportunity differently. Here’s why: If you reduce the costs enough, at some point you begin adding important benefits.

Consider this example: You provide some kind of education that learners can apply to make money. Let’s assume that you’ve reached the point where the value of that education to learners does not change as a result of further cost reductions. That change can instead often be accomplished by pruning away the unnecessary aspects of the education and improving the most valuable parts.

Transfer that essential experience into a virtually costless business model, and you’ve created a superior offering . . . even though its cost is much reduced. For example, many people assume they must spend money for educational resources that are unnecessary. They envision classrooms, teachers, people marking papers, and examinations.

But did very many people learn to speak their first language in that way? With electronic distribution and automated feedback mechanisms, delivery of learning experiences can be virtually costless.

Let’s assume your original educational offering cost learners 0,000. After you apply a breakthrough cost-reduction solution, the education still costs learners ,000. That’s way beyond what 80 percent of the world’s people can afford.

If you take that cost down again by 95 percent, you reach 0. That’s great, but still too expensive for most people.

Take that cost down by another 95 percent and you reach .50. Now you’ve added tens of millions who can afford the education.

Take that .50 down by another 95 percent and you reach .88. At this level, hundreds of millions can afford your offering.

Take that .88 down to .04 and nearly everyone can use what you have to offer. Somewhere along the way, you will also reach a tipping point where you unleash other forces that will aid your efforts.

Here’s one possibility of what that tipping point could be: If the income gains from the education are large, you’ve also created a happy customer who will want to invest a substantial portion of the new income to gain additional education from you.

If that additional education also helps create more income gains, even more education will be purchased. As long as the value is high enough, your student will buy more.

With low marketing costs, you can look forward to selling lots of services and having the opportunity to find lower costs to provide those other forms of education. You’ve created a virtuous cycle that makes growth and profit gains automatic, and you can serve most people on Earth, which allows for the potential of having an enormous enterprise.

That example may seem frivolous and unrealistic to you; forgive me if it does. But some people have seen such cost reductions occur within their own lifetime. For instance, the computing power of a .00 solar-powered calculator today cost more than million in the early 1950s. That change is identical to reducing the cost of a 0,000 education to .04.

How much of the economic progress we’ve enjoyed since the 1950s came as a result of more people being able to make more calculations? No one knows, but clearly the effects must have been quite large. Certainly, we’ve seen the computing industry grow from less than 0 million in annual sales then to hundreds of billions of dollars today.

The second benefit of such a checkup is that further cost reductions may allow current customers to make greater use of your offering. When such greater use follows, your sales increase and your potential to reduce costs further improves.

For instance, consider a city that adds border-to-border wireless service for computer users with a time-based connection fee. Much of the cost of such a capability is involved in acquiring computers and equipment, installing transmission towers and dishes, renting transmission sites, and putting the system together.

When such a wireless service has only a few customers, the operating and overhead costs may be identical to when the service has 100,000 customers. In other words, there’s some minimum scale involved in just setting up the business.

Because of the high startup cost, the initial service coverage is likely to be a minimal one. The connections won’t work in a lot of locations, much like the dropouts that people experience now with cellular telephone coverage.

As the service adds customers, the provider can afford to put more towers and dishes in place so that connections work in more locations. That improvement, in turn, stimulates more usage by existing customers, which lowers the cost of providing connection time to the average customer.

The third benefit of such checkups is that tackling tough cost-reduction challenges can hone your organization’s skills. With improved skills, you can move on to bigger opportunities competing against or acquiring organizations that aren’t as effective as you are.

Let’s look at how acquisitions can be used to gain such benefits. We saw that approach effectively taken by Coca-Cola and PepsiCo for many years as they purchased weak bottlers. Turning loose their best operating people, these operations would soon emerge as much more effective and with lower costs. When those new approaches were well understood by the bottler’s management, these bottlers were then resold for a tidy profit while they remained more valuable members of the soft drink companies’ distribution networks. Companies with such cost-reduction skills may also be able to become outsourcing providers.

With those benefits in mind, let’s now consider how such checkups might be best done. I draw from my extensive experience with organizations that have developed breakthrough solution cost reductions to clarify the ideal approach to such checkups.

The Best Vitamins for Bodybuilders

The Best Vitamins for Bodybuilders

The water-soluble vitamins (with the exception of vitamin C) are composed entirely of the B and B-complex vitamins, including Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pyridoxine (B6), Folate, Cobalamin (B12), Biotin and Pantothenic Acid. Because these vitamins are water soluble and thus have difficulty entering fatty tissues, they aren’t stored in the body and excessive amounts are excreted. And while this means toxicity is generally not a problem, these vitamins must be continually included in a bodybuilder’s diet. Vitamins Are :

1. Cobalamin (vitamin B12)

Although the functions of vitamin B12 are numerous, those important to bodybuilders include carbohydrate metabolism and maintenance of nervous system tissue (the spinal cord and nerves that carry signals from the brain to muscle tissues). Stimulation of muscles via nerves is a critical step in the contraction, coordination and growth of muscles.

Vitamin B12 is available only from foods of animal origin; therefore,it is very important for athletes following a strict vegetarian diet to consult a physician about vitamin B12 supplementation. In fact, B12 shots are popular with countless athletes, vegetarians and nonvegetarians alike, many of who swear it helps them perform better

2. Biotin

Although there’s a limited amount of sports nutrition research on Biotin, it makes our top 10 list because it has critical functions in amino acid metabolism and the production of energy from many sources. There can also may be one vitamin that some bodybuilders have trouble with when attempting to maintain a supply that is adequate.

The reason bodybuilders may have difficulty with Biotin is because it can be blocked by a substance called Avidin. Avidin is found in raw egg whites, a staple for many athletes. In fact, bodybuilders who eat raw egg whites or who don;t cook egg white well enough may experience growth problems with Biotin deficiency if their egg white consumption approaches 20 per day. Eating raw eggs can also lead to a bacterial infection called Salmonella, which can have severe health consequences.

3. Riboflavin (vitamin B2)

Riboflavin is involved in energy production in three areas:

1. Glucose metabolism, 2. Oxidation of fatty acids, and 3. The shuttling of hydrogen ions through the Krebs cycle. Of particular interest to bodybuilders, Riboflavin is somewhat related to protein metabolism. In fact, there is a strong relationship between lean body mass and dietary riboflavin.

One study by Belko and colleagues found that females needed higher than RDA levels of Riboflavin to return blood levels of Riboflavin to normal after exercise. Another study by Haralambie showed that Riboflavin supplementation improved muscular hyperexcitability (seen in trained athletes). This vitamin may prove to be especially important for athletes.

4. Vitamin A

Most of us know that vitamin A helps with vision, but bodybuilders need to become familiar with its other benefits. First of all, vitamin A is important in the synthesis of protein, the chief process of muscle growth. Second, vitamin A is involved in the production of Glycogen, the body’s storage form of energy for high intensity performance.

The problem with vitamin A status in bodybuilders is twofold. 1st, of all most American diets are consistently measured to be low in vitamin A supply. Second, both strenuous physical activity (which disrupts the absorption of vitamin A) and a low fat diet (which renders vitamin A loss in feces) jeopardize the level of vitamin A in the body. So be especially careful of your vitamin A intake during contest preparation.

5. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, meaning it protects the cell’s membranes. This is important because many of the metabolic processes that take place in the body, including the recuperation and growth of muscle cells, are dependent upon health cell membranes.

You’ve probably heard a lot about antioxidants in the news lately, and research continues to validate their importance. Specifically, antioxidants help to reduce the number of free radicals in the body. Free radicals are natural byproducts of cellular respiration, but accumulation of free radicals can lead to cellular changes and destruction (even cancer), rendering cells unable to adapt normally. As this means a reduction in exercise induced processes of repair and growth in the cell structure.

6. Niacin (vitamin B3)

This vitamin is involved in nearly 60 metabolic processes related to energy production and ranks high for bodybuilders by virtue of its critical importance in providing training fuel (no train, no gain)! The bad news is that high levels of Niacin have been found in the blood of athletes after exercise, suggesting that athletes may need more niacin than nonathletes. On the other hand, the good news is that even if a diet is low in Niacin, the body can make it from the amino acid tryptophan, which is found in abundance in turkey meat.

Bodybuilders are familiar with the form of Niacin known as nicotine acid, which causes vasodilation and may help a competitor look more vascular before going onstage. But this form of Niacin shouldn’t be used during training; large doses of nicotinic acid (50 – 100 mg) significantly impairs the body’s ability to mobilize and burn fat.

7. Vitamin D

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the absorption of Calcium and Phosphorus. Calcium is necessary for muscular contraction. If adequate stores of Calcium are not available in the muscle, full, hard muscular contractions cannot be sustained. Of course, Calcium is also needed for the integrity of bones, which must support increased muscle tissue and provide an anchor during muscular contraction.

And don’t forget about Phosphorus. The vitamin Phosphorus helps provide quick, powerful muscular contractions, which comprise the majority of movements during weight lifting. Phosphorus is also required for the synthesis of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), the high energy molecule used by your muscle cells during contraction.

This nutrient is high in the list since bodybuilders typically avoid the fat content, e.g., dairy foods. Look for vitamin D fortified foods and get in the habit of drinking at least one glass of low-fat or nonfat milk per day.

8. Thiamine (vitamin B1)

This B vitamin packs muscle! Thiamine is one of the vitamins required for protein metabolism and growth. It’s also involved in the formation of hemoglobin, a protein found in red blood cells that transports oxygen throughout the body (especially working muscles). The transport of oxygen is critical to athletic performance and becomes even more important as intensity and duration of exercise increase.

Making matters more interesting, Thiamine, according to research, is one of the few vitamins that enhances performance when supplemented and is increasingly needed by athletes. Not only that, but Thiamine requirements appear to be directly related to caloric expenditure. The more exercise frequency, intensity and duration increase, the more Thiamine is needed.

9. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

Surprised? Most athletes don’t realize how important vitamin C status is to success. As the most widely studied vitamin in sports nutrition, Ascorbic acid has proven itself to be valuable to bodybuilders in many ways.

First, vitamin C is an antioxidant, protecting muscle cells from free radical damage, thus enhancing recovery and growth.

Second, Ascorbic acid is also involved with amino acid metabolism, especially the formation of Collagen. The tissue collagen is the primary constituent of connective tissue, the stuff that holds together your bones and muscles. This may not seem important, but as you lift heavier weights, the stress you put on your structure becomes tremendous. When connective tissue is not as healthy and strong as it should be (a problem often seen in steroid users), risk of injury increases dramtically.

Third, vitamin C helps in the absorption of Iron. Iron is necessary to help Oxygen bind to hemoglobin in blood. Without adequate oxygen transportation in blood, muscles are robbed of precious oxygen and performance is greatly reduced.

Fourth, Ascorbic acid also assists in the formation and release of steroid hormones, including the anabolic hormone testosterone.

Finally, vitamin C is perhaps the most water soluble vitamin there is. In other words, it diffuses very rapidly in water. Since a muscle cell is mostly water, the more muscular an athlete becomes, the more vitamin C disperses and the lower the concentration of this critical substance becomes in body tissues. So vitamin C requirements are greatly increased for bodybuilders.

Bodybuilders are notorious for overlooking these key components of growth and performance. Do yourself a favor and analyze your diet to ensure you’re taking in enough of the vitamins outlined above. Remember: You could have the best diet in the world in terms of calories, fat, etc, but if you’re lacking adequate levels of these metabolic spark plugs, you’re shooting yourself in the foot.

Best Ways To Increase Your Mileage

Best Ways To Increase Your Mileage

Everyone\’s wallets are hurting with gas prices the way they are. Its a fact that prices are not going to be dropping to low levels we have been used to a few years ago, so there is nothing we can do but deal with it. But there are ways you can bring down your fuel bill, there are many simple techniques that can greatly improve your mileage.

First, make sure your tires are at the correct pressure level. Having flat or under inflated tires is one of the major causes of decrease in mileage. If your tires are under-inflated, adjusting them to the correct pressure will likely increase your mileage by 3 to 5 MPG.

The next technique to increase your mileage is to have good driving skills. This means not accelerating and braking hard, or having a \”lead foot\”. Instead practice driving by accelerating gently, don\’t race past the car in front of you just to make the light. And remember, every time you let your car idle you are losing MPG, you are technically getting zero miles per gallon.

Your car\’s maintenance also greatly affects your mileage. To maximize your MPG always keep your air filter clean and have your engine routinely tuned. Also make sure to replace spark plugs when needed.

When driving around town it is best to turn off your air conditioner and roll down the windows. Your engine has to work extra to run the AC motor. When on the highway it is better to use your air condition as opposed to rolling down the windows because at highway speeds with the windows down there is much greater drag on your car. This means that the wind is pushing back on your car much harder than it normally would.

If you follow these techniques you will be able to see a difference in your mileage. These techniques are free and all they require is self-discipline and a little time. If you are serious about saving money on gas and greatly increasing your mileage visit WaterForEnergy.net“>http://tinyurl.com/waterconversion to see how you can build a hydrogen conversion kit to convert your car to run on water.

Baseball Left Fielders ? The Best of the 1960s

The 1960s were blessed with a legion of good-hitting left fielders … in both major leagues.

Here are the top 10 left fielders of that decade, based on a combination of their offensive prowess and their stellar defense.

1. Lou Brock – Brock was the spark plug for a St. Louis Cardinals team that won it all in 1964. Playing in 103 games after being acquired from the Cubs, Brock hit .348 and scored 84 runs, with 9 triples, 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and 33 stolen bases. Brock finished his career with 3,023 hits and, at the time, the career record for stolen bases with 938.

2. Carl Yastrzemski – For 23 seasons, all with the Boston Red Sox, Carl Yastrzemski owned left field in Fenway Park. During the 1960s, Yaz won 3 batting titles, a Triple Crown and MVP in 1967, and 5 Gold Gloves.

3. Rocky Colavito - Colavito played outfield for 6 different teams during the 1960s. He hit 45 home runs with 140 RBIs for Detroit in 1961, and led the American League with 108 RBIs as a member of the Cleveland Indians in 1965.

4. Billy Williams – Williams started the 1960s as the National League Rookie of the Year and ended the decade on the verge of setting the NL record for consecutive games played (which he did in September of 1970 with 1,117). He batted a combined .292 for the decade, averaging 27 home runs and 94 RBIs per year.

5. Willie Horton – The Detroit Tigers left fielder was the team’s most dangerous power hitter through the second half of the 1960s, averaging 27 home runs and 89 RBIs per year. Horton’s best overall year was 1968, when he hit .285 with 36 home runs.

6. Rico Carty –In his rookie year of 1964, Carty finished second in the National League in hitting with a .330 average. He hit .300 or better in 9 out of the next 11 years, winning the National League batting title in 1970 with a .366 average.

7. Frank Howard – At his best in the late 1960s, Howard was the most feared power hitter in the American League. In 1968, he batted .274 with 106 RBIs, leading the majors in home runs (44), slugging percentage (.552), and total bases (330).

8. Leon Wagner – Wagner twice had 100-RBI seasons: 107 (with 37 home runs) for the Los Angeles Angels in 1962, and 100 (with 31 home runs) for the Cleveland Indians in 1964. Over a 12-season career, mostly with the Angels and Indians, Wagner hit .272 with 211 home runs.

9. Willie Stargell – Stargell’s Hall of Fame career was just getting started in the 1960s. From his 1963 rookie season through 1969, Stargell averaged 80 RBIs per year and topped 100 RBIs twice.

10. Tommy Davis –  Davis came out of nowhere in the early 1960s to lead the National League in hitting not once but twice (.346 in 1962, .326 in 1963). He also led the league in hits (230) and RBIs (153) in 1962.
